Closet Envy

One thing you really, really miss when you live in NYC is space. Around you, outside, inside, everywhere you look things are packed together. Luckily, I live in Queens (translation: my apartment is bigger than a normal NYC apartment you'd find in Manhattan or other neighborhoods) but I also share ONE CLOSET with three other people and have the smallest bedroom in our place.

I've been home in Iowa this weekend and did some serious gutting of old clothes that never made it out there with me-all that's left now are more formal dresses, a couple pairs of shoes and old t-shirts from sports and my sorority. The spring cleaning will continue after I get back to NYC, but instead of looking for space saving solutions I'm using this moment as a chance to daydream about having a real closet-one all to myself, with neatly sorted & spaced out clothes that I can thumb through at my leisure. Kind of like the ones below.

Happy Tuesday (& April, a day late)!

Free People Lovin'

I'm lucky enough to have my mom & sister working at a pretty amazing department store back home, Von Maur, where I frequently shop while having them keep an eye on items I adore but can't afford until they go on sale. I picked out a few pieces when I was home last in August, which my sister picked up on sale for me & is shipping them out to NYC this week! Both happen to be Free People items, so I thought I'd share a few of my favorite FP pieces right now.
I love the boho, relaxed vibe their clothes give off. They're easy to style and mix with other pieces I already own, and as an added bonus they're soft and comfortable.
