Hello, Weekend!

I don't know that I've ever been more happy for a Friday to finally get here-it has been one long week, going from hot & sunny Mexico to hot & rainy NYC & barely knowing what day it is. On top of that, I was unlucky enough to get sick the morning I had to fly back, had both my flights get delayed and literally walked up to my connecting one and saw them close the door (they let me on, but I had to gatecheck my bag-ugh). Follow all that with heading straight to work early the next morning, and I'm ready for a weekend of relaxation. I'll be back next week with all my adventures from Mexico (including one very beautiful bride and what I wore to the wedding!).

In the meantime, here's a little of what's caught my eye since my return to the Internet this week:

House of Gray Malin Photography released a summer parks series focused on NYC and Chicago. How cool is that aerial shot of Coney Island, above?

Did you miss a guest post while I was gone? Don't worry, you can read all the posts from my fab contributors here.

This picnic over on 100 Layer Cake looks incredible-I'm in love with the setting and the idea. Hoping to recreate it on a beach somewhere out here this summer!

In case you missed it, Anna Wintour broke her Twitter silence.

The amazing Baublebar necklace I picked up at their SoHo shop is now available online-& it's only $36!

A very thorough review of the Jawbone UP.

One of my favorite jewelry companies, The 2 Bandits, released their Holiday 2013 Lookbook last week. Already obsessing over the opals.

It's time to get my butt back in shape after a lazy start to summer-definitely incorporating these plank exercises from Verily magazine.

I went to a Lo & Sons trunk show last fall & fell in love with the OG bag in Plum, but they've been out of stock. They told me about Sky Blue coming in the summer, and now it's available! I just used my gift card to buy one-can't wait to get it!

The WGSN tumblr is full of fashion inspiration, & free to everyone (unlike the site).

I'm on a serious mission to bring my shoe collection to the next level, and these metallic ASOS heels are the perfect summer sandal.

Refinery29 makes getting older look GOOD with their 50 & Awesome: Women Who Inspire article.

I can't wait to try Honestly...WTF's DIY Wrap Bangle tutorial. Super easy & a great summer accessory.

Enjoy your weekend! Share what caught your eye over the last few weeks with me below-I have some serious Internet catch-up to play!

Friday Link Love

Happy Friday! This week has felt impossibly long and I spent most of Thursday thinking it was Friday (that's what I get for being on very little sleep the last few weeks. I also have experienced several instances of evening naps lately where I wake up thinking it's the next morning....oops!). I'm headed to Googa Mooga this weekend for the second year, starting with the kickoff concert tonight. After that, it'll be a lot of cleaning & laundry to prep for my mom visiting over my birthday next weekend! Here's hoping there's lots of sunshine and fun planned wherever you are this weekend, too.

Just this morning, Ashley posted a link to this post on the rain room at MoMA-I am completely dying inside to go, especially since I tried to make it to the swing exhibit but missed it.

The shampoo debate: how often do you wash your hair? Victoria wrote about how she's considering the no-poo route, inspired by Sarah. Jessie and Liz have also shared their tips and tricks to going up to two weeks in between washes! Would you try it? I'm currently at five days and feeling pretty good!

There's nothing quite like a cloth napkin (like these adorable ones, on sale!) for summer gatherings.

The beaded flamingo clutch I've been obsessing over at Anthropologie went on sale this week.

My best friend moved to Phoenix last week, and since we're both gin & tonic drinkers I think this print will make a fantastic housewarming gift!

I discovered Seen Heard Known this week and proceeded to lose myself in their site for several hours.

A lot of my mornings walking to work are starting to look like this and I love it.

Jacey posted her summer sun staples and I want everything on her list (that I'm not already using)!

I got my first whif of Hermès Jour perfume a few weeks ago and I have been lusting after a bottle ever since (birthday present, anyone?).

TGIF, everyone!

Flower Friday + Link Love

Happy (finally) Friday! This week has felt impossibly long, which is the biggest tease when it's been so nice out. Sorry to all my friends back in Iowa who have been dealing with snow the last two days-I can't say I miss any of that crazy weather! May is easily my favorite month, although I'm probably biased since it brings my birthday with it. It's also an incredibly nostalgic month for me-not only did it usually mean the end of another school year, but May also brought dance recitals (there's a certain type of weather during this month that makes me feel as though I should be heading to a rehearsal) and the beginnings of summers at the pool. Life doesn't get much better than spending your summers outdoors, every day, working at a pool with your friends. I'm hoping I get to spend enough time in the sun this year that my hair gets at least half as blonde as it used to, even though I work indoors now!

Speaking of May, how gorgeous are those flower arrangements? We never have too many blooms in my apartment, but I'm planning on finishing my deep cleaning projects this weekend & setting up a few pretty arrangements to bring a little bit of sunshine in! Peonies and lilacs are at the top of my list right now. I hope everyone has an equally enjoyable weekend ahead of them, but if you need a little weekend reading/web browsing, here's some of what's caught my eye this week:

Refinery29 shared a fantastic article on easy steps to get yourself debt-free. Not included: a little bit of willpower (my mantra: I will not shop at Zara, I will not shop at Zara...).

Speaking of shopping, these yellow sandals need to find their way to my closet before I head to Mexico next month, and at under $100 they're a steal (no credit card required)!

I don't own a single collared shirt, but being friends with Jessica is slowly convincing me, & her recent post on styling a chambray shirt has me thinking that a chambray might be my first!

The days are getting longer & brighter, which means more sun exposure-time to stock up on my favorite sunscreen (non-greasy & great under makeup).

Kiley featured a bag from the Port Leather Company this week & a custom bag has ended up on my wish list! (Isn't the mint one she carried gorgeous?)

These West Elm vases would be a perfect addition to my already colorful apartment for all the fresh flowers I plan on keep around this summer.

The Everygirl featured co-founder Danielle's apartment this week & I fell in love with this little etsy print hanging in her bathroom! It will make a great housewarming gift for a friend who's moving soon.

I'm still searching for the right dress to wear to a wedding next month, but if I had unlimited funds this pink Oscar De La Renta dress would be it.

I loved Victoria's post last week about some of the best DIY bloggers & projects around the web. They're easy enough even the DIY-challenged can give them a try.

Happy Friday!

And, happy March! I'm so glad the month of almost-spring is here. I would say this winter has felt unusually long, but I think I really say that every year. I'm still not sure why I didn't move somewhere winter barely exists, like LA, but I suppose I'll never know! I thought I'd round out the week with a little link love.

West End Architectural Salvage (one of the coolest salvage shops I've seen) has its own HGTV show now!

I just ordered these jeans on a serious markdown & I can't wait to get them.

Fellow bloggers shared their spring lusts this week (with lots of color!), some favorites are herehere & here.

Feeling inspired by this kitchen redesign.

I stumbled across this blog recently & it's a new favorite.

I can't wait for Smorgasburg to return!

I'm working on my 101 in 1001 list, inspired by Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling.

Workout wishlist includes these compression pants.

Happy weekend!! I'm looking forward to a warmer one & hitting up the FIT shoe exhibit with friends tomorrow. Follow me on instagram to see what catches my eye this weekend!

xx
